What are the advantages of a career as a travel nurse?   A travel nurse takes charge of her career and selects positions based upon her professional development desires and location. The entire country is available with a variety of medical settings and opportunities.   What commitment will I be making to SSI as a travel nurse?   You will be employed by SSI and the expectation is that you will complete the assignment that you have accepted.   What type of housing is provided for travel nurses?   Travel nurses are provided with safe and comfortable accomodations that meet the needs of their assignment. Travel employees may be single housing or many employees travel with someone. Pets however are not accepted.   Do I get benefits as a travel nurse?   Benefits are available to the travel nurse based on needs and requests, which includes health, dental, life 401K and retirement plan. Travel and housing experience can be part of the benefits and of course a bonus.   How are the travel and housing arrangements made?   Our staffing professionals, your Placement Coordinator, work with all of our travel nurses to make sure their housing needs are met at their new location. We also have a travel nurse expert for you to consult with should you have any questions. You may handle your own arrangements if you wish to.   Do I have to share housing with another professional? Can I travel with a friend   or relative?   Travel employees may be single housing or many employees travel with someone. Pets however are not accepted.   What if there is a problem with my job or housing while I am on assignment?   We are available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and to help you while you are on assignment and we can help with any of your housing needs. Contact your local office or the Placement Coordinator assigned to you.   What do I need to do to start working with SSI Medical?   Just complete our online application or call one of our offices. Our staffing professionals will work with you to find you the right position.   What benefits will I receive while working with SSI?   The healthcare package depends upon your area of the country. SSI works with Regents Blue Shield and Kaiser Permanente.   What about licensing and continuing education?   Licensing and CE is the responsibility of the employee although we make arrangements with the client facilities.     When and how am I paid?   Payroll checks are issued weekly by check. Direct deposit is available.   Are taxes taken out of my check?   Yes. As you are an employee of SSI, we handle your withholding taxes and will send you a W2 at the end of the year.   Does SSI offer vacation benefits?   Vacation benefits are not offered although an end of assignment bonus can be issued.   What about overtime and/or call shifts?   If you would like to work overtime and/or call shifts you will specify this as a preference in your profile and our staffing professionals will locate those positions for you.   Is there a referral bonus program?   Yes!
